EVENING PRAYER

Come to me in the evening,
As I close my day in prayer.
Come to me in the twilight,
Let me sense your presence there.
Come to me as I praise you
For your guidance through the day,
For keeping me from falling,
As I walk the narrow way.
Come to me as I worship you,
When my daily tasks are done.
Let my praises rise to heavens,
At the setting of the sun.
Come to me in the darkness,
As I rest upon my bed.
Give sweet peace as I slumber,
After my prayers are said.
Come to me at midnight,
In my loneliness give a song.
Be my comfort and joy in the shadows,
And be with me all the night long.
